Desperate Fishing for Summer Bass and Bluegill - Realistic Fishing

In the first episode this week we ask – are you feeling desperate to catch bass or bluegill during the summer? Realistic Fishing knows how you feel. Over the last few days I have been struggling to catch even one bass. Catching bluegill isn’t exactly a picnic right now either. After days of catching nothing I finally got lucky on a wacky rig Yum Dinger. With fog on the lens, I am able to get a 3/4 lb bass to end the dry spell. When the bass and bluegill fishing isn’t satisfying, all you can do is try again later. In this case one night made all of the difference. A one fish difference.

Which Creek Fishing Bait is the Best? Summer Fishing in a Small Creek

Which Creek Fishing Bait is the Best Summer Fishing in a Small Creek - Realistic Fishing

In the first episode this week we find which creek fishing bait is the best for summer fishing in a small creek. I am out trying different baits while fishing a creek. I try Impulse Mayflies, Crappie Nibbles, and Gulp Minnows. The mayfly lures catch a total of one fish. The crappie nibbles and gulp minnows catch many more. I do catch a good variety of fish too, including sunfish, bluegill, shiners, and a chub. When the summer is too hot to fish at the lake, maybe try fishing in a creek. If you already do, which bait do you think is the best?

Bass Fishing from a Jon Boat Realistic Fishing with a Texas Rig - Realistic Fishing

In the first episode this week on Realistic Fishing I am bass fishing with a Jon Boat with a Texas Rig. The hot summer weather can make bass fishing tough. I start out fishing a topwater frog (toad) with no luck so I switch to a Rage Tail Structure Bug. I catch a nice largemouth bass behind a stump in the water. I also lose a fish because I forgot to check my line for fray. After tying a new rig and fishing for a while without a bite, I finally get one more small bass. If you try fishing from a jon boat this summer, this just might be realistic texas rig fishing for you too.

Bass Fishing with Live Bait at the Dam – Light Tackle Spinning Rig

Bass Fishing with Live Bait at the Dam Light Tackle Spinning Rig - Realistic Fishing

In the first episode this week I’m in Chattanooga bass fishing with live bait at the dam. To catch bass early in the morning, I’m using light tackle and a spinning rig. Joe from Chatt Cats Fishing invited me down for a quick trip and he knew where we could catch a few fish. That morning the bass were taking live bait as it drifted in the current. I was fishing 6 lb test on a light spinning rig and we ended up catching 12 fish total which really made for a good morning. If you are out there fishing at the dam and you just can’t get a bite, you might need some live bait. At times, the summer bass can be slow and quite picky.
