In this episode: Today I am out creek fishing from the bank with one inch minnows. I am out early to avoid the excessive heat but the water is already hot and stagnant. I decide to try anyway and have moderate success. I catch a few nice bluegill (sunfish) as I make my way down the bank at the park. The $2.00 jar of Gulp Alive Minnows has lasted for a couple of weeks now and caught a bunch of fish. If you are looking to beat the heat and still catch fish, maybe try creek fishing early in the morning. You can even fish creeks from the bank if you don’t want to walk out there.

Fishing In SCUM – Can I Catch Fish in Disgusting Lake Water?

In the first episode this week: Today I am fishing in Scum! Can I catch fish in disgusting lake water? There is a large build up of brown scum on top of the lake today. The cove I am fishing is covered in a thick layer of something that looks toxic. Amazingly, the fish seem to be hiding under the edge of this gunk because that is where I am catching them. I try for a while down by the log where there is less scum, but I don’t get many bites. After moving to the hot, scummy, cove, I start to catch some nice bluegill.

I Should Have Used a BAITCASTER!! Losing Bass On Light Tackle Fishing

In the final episode this week: I should have used a baitcaster because losing bass on light tackle does happen! Fishing for bass with light tackle has its advantages, but it also has its downfalls. It took two days to finally hook into a bass, and I lost it in a snag. The 6 lb test line wasn’t strong enough to get the bass out of the submerged trees. After losing that fish, I switch to the baitcaster to avoid breaking the line again. I did end up catching another largemouth bass, but it was smaller than the one that got away.

In the first episode this week: The bass fishing is tough but this modified lure strikes again! This bass fishing lure is my hero because it saved the day. I found another bag of soft plastic crawfish to pull the claws off. So I am out bass fishing from the bank once again. I try two different spots on the lake and catch three fish total. I catch one bluegill, and two bass. The small bass and bluegill go for the Mule Swimbait, and the bigger bass goes for the clawless craw.

In the first episode this week: Did you know ugly fishing lures catch more fish? Today I am catching more bass with junk lures! I am fishing two different lures from the bank. First is a Reaction Innovations Man Bear Pig. Next is a Keitech Swimbait. I don’t catch anything on either of them until they are ruined. I pull the claws off of the Reaction Innovations and a fish bites the tail off of the swimbait. It isn’t until both lures are in their junk form that I catch anything. I catch a big bass on the clawless crawfish. And a 1lb bass on the tailless swimbait.
