In the first episode this week: Today I am fishing with a soda can instead of a fishing reel. This is a survival fishing method for casting without a rod and reel. By spooling line on to a can, I am able to make short casts simply by throwing my float rig out there. The line comes off the can like a reel, only there is no rod. While its not the easiest method to catch fish, I am able to make it work. I catch a fish (sunfish), which was my goal. If this were a matter of survival, I would be happy with anything. Catching a Fish or Winning on a Slot Machine – Which is Easier???
In the final episode this week: Which is easier, catching a fish or winning on a slot machine? I started out the day fishing for bass with a Baby Brush Hog. It is one of my confidence lures when the bite is tough. After fishing for about 40 minutes, I decided to give up and try something else. I tried my luck on some slot machines at the local horse racing track. I actually had more fun on slots today, than I did the fishing. I even won $50 on a game where you catch fish to win! Sometimes the fish aren’t biting, and I like to do something else. Hopefully the fishing will be easier next time.
