THIS is Why I Love TOPWATER Fishing!!!
Topwater fishing is one of those things that never gets old, especially when the bite is on like this. I head out with a Rebel Pop-R and start working it parallel to the bank, making long casts to cover as much water as possible. That approach pays off pretty quickly.
I pick up a couple bass early, then keep moving and targeting different structure like docks and a drain area. That’s where things really come together. By the end of the trip, I’ve landed five largemouth bass all on topwater.
What makes this work is simple—covering water and keeping the bait in high-percentage areas. When bass are willing to come up and hit the surface, there’s really nothing better.

Spring Fishing With TOPWATER! (Bank Fishing TIPS For Topwater)
A lot of people think topwater is only for summer, but early spring can actually be a great time to start throwing it—if you do it right. In this video, I focus more on how to fish a Pop-R from the bank and what to look for.
The main idea is keeping your casts close to the bank and working the lure slowly. That popping action gets attention, but it’s the pauses that usually trigger the strike. You don’t need to rush it.
A few key things that help with early spring topwater:
- Cast parallel to the bank instead of straight out
- Work the lure slow with short pops and pauses
- Focus on calm water and shallow areas warming up first
This is more about building confidence with topwater before the bite really turns on, and it sets up perfectly for when fishing gets even better.

Catch BIGGER BLUEGILL From The Bank With PowerBait!!!
If you’re trying to catch bigger bluegill instead of just numbers, bait choice starts to matter more. In this video, I switch over to a PowerBait minnow on a BG-1 jig head using an ultralight setup, and it makes a difference right away.
The first fish is actually a largemouth bass, which shows how versatile the setup is. After that, it turns into exactly what I was looking for—big bluegill. Not just one or two either, but multiple solid fish in the same session.
This setup works because it gives you:
- A natural presentation with scent
- Enough movement to attract bigger fish
- The ability to target both panfish and bass
If you’re stuck catching small bluegill, this is a simple way to start upgrading the size.

Let’s Go Bass Fishing With Rapala’s Crush City Mooch Minnow!
Trying out new soft plastics is always hit or miss, and this one starts off slow. The first spot doesn’t produce anything, which is pretty typical when you’re figuring out a new lure. After switching locations, things finally turn around.
Fishing the Mooch Minnow on a finesse Texas rig starts producing bites, and I end up landing three largemouth bass. The biggest is around a pound and a half, but the bigger takeaway is how well the bait holds up. All three fish come on the same lure without tearing it up.
It’s a good example of how sticking with a bait and adjusting location can make the difference, especially in spring when fish are still moving around.

How Do I Catch The BIG BLUEGILL? Bank Fishing Rig For JUMBO Bluegill
Catching bigger bluegill usually comes down to changing your setup, and that’s exactly what I do here. I start off with a Road Runner and minnow trying to pick up bass, and while it works once, it’s not consistent.
After switching to a simple jig and minnow rig, everything changes. That’s when the bigger bluegill start showing up, along with a few bonus bass mixed in.
The rig itself is straightforward, but it works because it stays in the strike zone longer and looks natural in the water. If you’re trying to move away from catching small fish, this is one of the easiest adjustments you can make from the bank.

Start Bass Fishing For Less Than TEN DOLLARS (Beginner Bass Fishing)
Getting into bass fishing doesn’t have to cost much, and this video proves it. I head to Walmart and grab a basic setup—soft plastics, hooks, and weights—all for under ten dollars.
Everything is built around a simple Texas rig, which makes it easy to fish from the bank without getting hung up all the time. The same setup works with worms, creature baits, and flukes, so you’re not limited to one style.
What you actually need:
- Soft plastic baits (worms, flukes, creature baits)
- 3/0 worm hooks
- 1/8 oz weights
That’s it. With that setup, I’m able to get bites and land a bass, showing that you don’t need expensive gear to get started.

I was About To QUIT Fishing then THIS Happened!
This is one of those trips where nothing seems to be working at first. I start with a Rapala minnow and only manage one small bass. Then I switch to a swimbait and still can’t get anything going.
At that point, it feels like it’s over. But instead of packing up, I turn around and make a few more casts. That’s when it happens—a solid largemouth bass hits, completely turning the day around.
It’s a simple reminder that fishing can change fast. A slow day can turn into a good one with just a little more time and a few extra casts.
