Spring Creek Fishing in Middle Tennessee: PowerBait Minnows, Inline Spinners, and Twister Tail Grubs from the Bank

Spring Fishing in Middle Tennessee – Realistic Fishing From the Bank

Spring fishing in Middle Tennessee isn’t always picture-perfect, and I’m showing it like it is from the bank. It’s not just about landing big fish—sometimes it’s fighting rough weather, high water, and nonstop rain. The water levels have been way up lately, making it tough to fish, and I went four days straight without a bite. No Bass, no Bluegill, nothing. Spring can be prime when the weather’s right, but it’s a real challenge when you factor in all the bad days.
I kept at it, casting from the shore through the mess. High water’s been a pain, and the rain doesn’t let up—typical spring around here. Those four skunk days prove it’s not all easy catches; you’ve got to deal with what’s thrown at you. When the weather finally breaks, it’s worth it, but bank anglers need patience this time of year. How do you handle spring fishing when the conditions turn sour?

Spring Creek Fishing With a POWERBAIT Minnow! (Not Gulp)

I’m out creek fishing this spring with a PowerBait Minnow—not the Gulp version, but close. This one-inch lure isn’t packed in juice; it’s the dry PowerBait take on a minnow, and it fits perfect on a BG-1 jig head. It did the job, pulling in Yellow Bass and White Bass from the bank. I tried it under a float for a bit, but that didn’t pan out. Switched to a Twister Tail Grub later and hooked a Largemouth Bass. Both lures worked solid on this trip—good options for spring creeks.
The creek’s starting to fish better, and that PowerBait Minnow got things going. Nailed a couple Yellow Bass and a White Bass with it—no fancy setup, just a jig head from the shore. The float rig wasn’t clicking, so I went back to the Twister Tail Grub, and that’s when the Largemouth hit. Spring’s warming the water, and both these lures are worth keeping handy. Tried the PowerBait Minnow yet? Let me know how it treats you.

Creek Fishing Picks:

PowerBait Minnow: Caught Yellow Bass and White Bass.

Twister Tail Grub: Snagged a Largemouth Bass.

Spring CREEK Fishing With a SPINNER and Twister Tail Grub!

Today I’m hitting a creek in spring with an Inline Spinner and a Mister Twister-style grub, fishing from the bank. The water’s finally warming up, and the fish are active. I landed a Yellow Bass on the Inline Spinner—first catch with it this season! Then I switched to the Twister Tail Grub and pulled in a bunch: more Yellow Bass, a Largemouth Bass, and a White Bass. The Bass are getting aggressive enough for the spinner, but that curly tail grub outfished it by a mile. Spring creek fishing’s on—try it and you might get three species too.
That Inline Spinner broke the skunk with a Yellow Bass—good to see it work after some rough outings. But the Twister Tail Grub took over, nabbing multiple fish quick—Yellow Bass, a solid Largemouth, and a White Bass. The creek’s alive now, and both lures got bites, though the grub’s the star here. Bank fishing in spring’s picking up fast—simple stuff like this does the trick. Which one’s your go-to for creeks—spinner or grub?

Spring Creek Results:

Inline Spinner: One Yellow Bass—finally!

Twister Tail Grub: Multiple Yellow Bass, Largemouth Bass, White Bass.
