I haven't been fishing here for a long time! Today I am catching bass at 2 different Tennessee Parks. The parks I am fishing are open to the public and also have boat ramps. I haven't been to the first location in a while and I'm surprised how shallow the water is. I still manage to catch two largemouth bass on a Baby Brush Hog. After moving to another public area, I start fishing a small jerkbait, and catch two more fish. This time a Long Ear Sunfish, and another bass. Today I'll be fishing with a Beetle Spin spinnerbait! Can I catch a bass on this old time favorite? This Beetle Spin was sent to the show by a generous subscriber and I unbox it at the lake. First I try a Googan Baits crankbait without any success. But after switching to the Beetle SPin, I actually start catching fish. I catch a nice Longear Sunfish, a Green Sunfish, and even a few largemouth bass! Make that 4 largemouth bass! The largest fish today comes in around .5 pounds but its a nice catch on the small beetle spin lure. Today I catch the first bass of the season at the Lucky Unlucky Spot. Realistic Fishing is out at Public Parks today trying to find fish. I catch a largemouth Bass on a Texas Rig (Craw) at the first spot I try. After a few casts at the next spot, I get a topwater bite, but don't hook the fish. After that, I move to the final fishing spot "The Log". I manage to catch two green sunfish on a Gulp Minnow. And thats it, 3 fish today including a largemouth bass. The fishing is still hit and miss depending on where you fish. Today I am bass fishing with a bluegill crankbait and Texas rigs. The lipless crankbait I am throwing today has a bluegill pattern. I start out fishing it in open water without much success. But as soon as I cast alongside the dock, I hook into a big bass weighing about 3 pounds. I love the feeling of a bass grabbing a crankbait. After switching to a Texas rig and moving to the other side of the lake, I catch another largemouth bass weighing about 1 pound. If you have a chance to go bass fishing this spring, maybe try a bluegill pattern crankbait. I am Not catching 2 pound bluegill all day! Today I'm fishing a Gulp Minnow vs a 1 inch swimbait. I was told my bluegill are tiny, but I don't care. I am out here catching the fish that are in front of me. I catch a good variety of bluegill on the first lure, a 1 inch gulp minnow. After switching to the swimbait, I continue catching bluegill. It looks like both of these lures catch bluegill. I believe the Gulp minnows out-fished the swimbaits, but not by much. In today's video we are bass fishing with Texas rigs and Jerkbaits. I am fishing at a public park I like to call Skeletor Park. The first night I am out there fishing with a small jerkbait and I manage to catch two fish. The first catch is an aggressive bluegill measuring maybe 7 inches. The second fish catch is a largemouth bass coming at a whopping 6 inches. After leaving and coming back a few days later, it is much more windy. It is so windy, making casting difficult. I still manage to catch another bass, but this time on a Texas rig. Today I am testing a new float! I'm fishing with a new ultra light float rig designed by i_fish. This is the 1.25 gram float and the matching 1.25 BG-1 jig head. My lure of choice today is a Gulp Alive Minnow (1 inch). I catch a variety of panfish including long ear sunfish and bluegill. The float casts well on my light setup with 6 lb test mono. The slim float highly visible even while fishing from the bank. The float is also quite sensitive seeing that a 4 inch bluegill can easily take it under. Today I am fishing a Texas Rig vs Swimbait. Spring Bass fishing from shore, especially at a public park, can still be hit or miss! Some days its seems like they want a big Texas Rig. Other days they want a small swimbait. Today I start out with a Texas rigged worm. I fish the whole park and don't even get a bite. After switching to the swimbait I start catching fish. I catch 2 largemouth bass and two yellow bass. This is how easy bass fishing with a swimbait can be. Swimbait fishing from the bank is sometimes overlooked in the spring. But these early spring bass are loving it! I am using a 1 inch swimbait on a BG1 jig head. This is a tiny paddle tail swimbait, and anything similar should work. I catch three largemouth bass, and even two bluegill, all on the same lure! I swim it next to a dock and catch one. I fish the swimbait near some downed trees and catch one. I even catch a bass on the other side of the lake.
