Spring Fishing from the Bank: Ultralight Rigs, Texas Rigs & Swimbait Tips for Bass and More

Spring Ultralight Fishing From the Bank (Catch More Fish From Shore)

Spring’s the perfect time to hit the bank with an ultralight setup, and I’m out showing how it can pile up the catches. Instead of chasing big fish and maybe getting one or two, I go small to hook a bunch—Yellow Bass, Shellcracker, and Bluegill all hit my simple float rig. Fishing from shore doesn’t get much easier, especially for beginners, and I’m doing it all without live bait. Ultralight fishing’s a blast when you want steady action right from the water’s edge.

I kept the rig basic—a float setup anyone can use—and it delivered fish after fish. Yellow Bass were biting hard, with Shellcracker and Bluegill mixing in to keep things lively. Spring’s warming up, and the bank’s where it’s at for quick, fun fishing. No need for fancy gear or boats; just grab an ultralight rod and try it. What’s your favorite way to catch more fish from shore this season?

Spring Bass Fishing With a TEXAS RIG! (Bass Fishing in The Wind)

Spring bass fishing’s here, and I’m working a Texas Rig despite some nasty wind making things tough. Gusts can mess with your cast and tangle your line, but if you push through, the Bass are there. I’m out at local spots early in the season, using a Texas-rigged creature bait to land two Largemouth Bass. Switched to a smaller lure later and picked up a Golden Shiner and a Bluegill. Wind or no wind, a Texas Rig’s a solid bet for spring Bass from the bank.
Fighting the breeze isn’t fun, but that creature bait got it done—two Largemouth Bass proved it. Dropping down to a smaller lure opened things up for the Golden Shiner and Bluegill, showing you’ve got options even on rough days. Spring’s just kicking off, and local banks are holding fish if you’re willing to cast through the gusts. Anyone else braving the wind for Bass lately? What’s working for you?

Windy Day Results:

Texas Rig Creature Bait: Two Largemouth Bass caught.

Smaller Lure: Nabbed a Golden Shiner and Bluegill.
