The Fishing in Tennessee is Getting Worse – So Let’s Play BASSIN’s Black Bass on SNES

The Fishing in Tennessee is Getting Worse!

I hate to say it, but fishing in Tennessee is getting worse. The bass fishing is almost non-existent, stocked trout fishing has turned into a chaotic mess, and even bluegill refuse to bite. The weather hasn’t helped either—freezing temperatures, flooding, and relentless fishing pressure have all taken a toll on the fish population.

I’ve been out multiple times recently, hoping things would turn around, but every trip has been a complete waste of time. No bites, no fish, just frustration. The worst part? This has been happening for months. It’s not just a seasonal slump—it’s one of the worst fishing years I’ve ever seen.

At this point, I’d rather stay home and play fishing video games than keep getting skunked. Thankfully, I got an unexpected surprise—an unopened package sent to the show. It might not be a big bass, but at least it gave me something to look forward to.

Will Tennessee fishing ever get better? Or is this the new normal?

Bass Fishing at Home! First Time Playing BASSIN’s Black Bass on SNES

With real-life fishing completely falling apart, I’ve decided to try my luck at virtual bass fishing! Today, I’m playing BASSIN’s Black Bass on the Super Nintendo (SNES) for the very first time.

This game is different from Super Black Bass, but I like it right away. The graphics are surprisingly good, the water looks realistic, and there’s even a built-in guide to help new players understand how to catch fish. It feels more polished than some other fishing games from the 90s.

I start my first tournament, and after figuring out the mechanics, I manage to land three bass on my first try! The gameplay feels smooth, and I like that different lures actually make a difference. Unlike some older fishing games, this one actually feels like a real fishing experience.

If you’re a fan of retro fishing games, BASSIN’s Black Bass is definitely worth checking out. It’s a fun throwback, and I can’t wait to play more and see if I can win a full tournament. Have you ever played this one?

More Bass Fishing at HOME. Remember SUPER Black Bass for the SNES?

If you grew up in the Super Nintendo era, you might remember Super Black Bass—one of the most well-known fishing video games of the 90s.

It’s been over 20 years since I last played, so I was curious to see if I still had what it takes. Right away, I remember that this game has a lot of depth—you can drive your boat around, pick different fishing spots, and try to target the biggest bass. Unlike some newer games, only black bass count in tournaments, so you have to be selective.

Once I got the hang of things, I managed to catch a few nice bass, but I also lost a couple—just like in real life. My biggest fish of the session? A 7-pound bass, which felt awesome after struggling through smaller catches.

Compared to the original Black Bass, this game has better graphics and a more advanced fishing system—but I’m still not sure about the music. Some tracks are okay, while others are just strange.

Do you remember playing Super Black Bass on the SNES? Or do you have another favorite retro fishing game? Let me know!
