This is the beginning of a new series called Will It Texas Rig? I will be testing lures on a Texas Rig while bass fishing. Today I am trying the "Moxi" for the first time. I manage to catch three largemouth bass while fishing from shore. None of them are giants, but I am quite sure that the Moxi will Texas Rig. In fact, I think it works quite well when rigged that way. I just caught my first bass on a crankbait this year! Spring bass fishing with lures is a lot of fun, once the bass start biting. The water temperatures are creeping up, and the fish a getting more active. Not only do I catch a bass on a crankbait, I also catch one on a swimbait! These bass are caught in shallow water, from the bank. They were caught a t a public park, so anyone could have caught them. Don't forget to try a crankbait or swimbait this spring. Here is a spring bank fishing report from Realistic Fishing. Now is the time to fish for crappie and bluegill. I am easily catching them from the bank in a short amount of time. On this trip I catch 2 crappie and a few bluegill in less than an hour. I'm using a simple float rig with a Gulp Minnow (artificial). As the water warms up, the fishing will get better for almost every kind of fish here in Tennessee. The fishing will be getting better for everyone pretty soon. This is why I love Gulp Minnows! I started the day bank fishing for largemouth bass. I used several lures including a Ned rig, Texas Rig Craw, and a Swim Bait! The thing is, I didn't get a single bite! After an hour of bass fishing I decided to switch to a one inch gulp minnow. This is when I started catching fish! I caught a bunch of big bluegill today. I even caught a massive Bullgill! This is the biggest bluegill I have caught in a long time! I am so glad I switched to gulp minnows before I gave up. Today we are out spring fishing for bass and bluegill. And before I go, I need just one more fish! I start out fishing with a Texas Rig, but I still think its too early for larger lures like that. I don;t catch anything with the baitcaster and I end up going to fish at another location. I also try a jerkbait with any success. After switching to a simple float rig, I finally start catching fish. I catch a bunch of bluegill, and even a small largemouth bass. I am out fishing at Skeletor Park today and here is the early spring fishing report from Realistic Fishing. The bluegill are biting on worms fished under a float. I also catch a golden shiner mixed in with the other fish, but no bass today. Its a windy day with cool temperatures, and the water is struggling to stay above 60 degrees. The unstable shallow water temperatures make the fishing unpredictable. Today was better than yesterday though, because I only caught one fish. This is the last of the clearance fishing lures from Academy Sports. I spent ten dollars on six packs of lures including Powerbait, Lure Jenson, and Eagle Claw. The fishing season is about to heat up and I am just waiting for the last of this cold weather to move out. Last week I was catching bass! This week I am barely catch any bluegill. Today we are casting the baitcaster as we get ready for the coming bass fishing season. I start out fishing with a Texas Rig on a baitcaster. I am testing it out and hoping to get lucky with an early spring largemouth bass. As expected, I didn't catch any bass. So I switch thing up and try a few different lures and different locations. I finally find and catch fish at Skeletor Park. I get one yellow bass and a bunch of bluegill. Bass season is almost here, and I am ready for it. Today I'm fishing so you don't have to because its cold and windy. This is the first fish catch at Skeletor Park! Even though its cold the fish are still biting, even at a public park like Skeletor Park. I am using a small jig head under a float. And that is the lure I catch all of today's fish on. The water is trying to warm up and I hope we don't have many more cold days. Soon the bass with be in this creek, but not today. If you want to try fishing on a cold windy day, good luck! Now is the time to start bass fishing! I catch two bass by the drain!!! Spring is here and the water is finally warming up. The water temperature is creeping up to 60 degrees. Today I am fishing with a simple float rig, and later, just a jig head. I start out fishing with a live worm, and finish with a Gulp minnow. I catch some really nice bluegill early on. One of them is nine inches! After moving down the bank a bit I end up catching two largemouth bass next to . One of them weighed about one pound.
