Can I catch a fish today? This is what winter fishing from shore is like right now. The first spot I try is The Log, and despite my best efforts, I can't even catch one fish. So after about 15 minutes of failure, I decide to try somewhere else. And, I am glad I did. Right away I start getting bites, and catching fish. I easily catch a bunch of bluegill. I would rather leave and catch something, rather than stay and catch nothing. So a ZERO fish day turned into a 6 fish day. Fishing with a float rig is a quick way to check for bluegill in any area.
